Red H Farm is a one woman (+ friends and family) operation located on 1.5 acres in Sebastopol, CA. Caiti Hachmyer, a young farmer who grew up on the land she's now farming does almost all of the work on the farm by hand, completely chemical-free, and with care for the land and water, not just the people she feeds.
The coastal influence of foggy mornings, sunny days and cool evenings provides for a wide variety of crops at Red H Farm. This includes longer lasting cool-season crops like spinach, fava beans and peas, to packed-with-flavor dry farmed tomatoes, cooler-climate melons and, of course, a rainbow colored pumpkin patch! Our small size enables us to orchestrate interesting trades with neighboring farms and farmers to enhance the offerings in our weekly boxes. We pride ourselves on creating the kinds of relationships between farms, farmers, customers and friends that are the foundation of a healthy local foodshed. For the early season when our own field is still too wet, we share land with Blankety Blank Potatoes and Produce, we trade with a variety of local fruit farms, and we share our stand at the Cotati farmers market with Split Rail Farm, who offer eggs, rabbit meat, lamb and specialty yarn in addition to our flowers and vegetables. |
